Texas Mini Sessions . The Woodlands Photographer

I decided to do two days of mini-sessions while in Texas. The first day was awesome. Super fun families…adorable kids… nice light…but…

I have never shot continuously for 3 hours in 100+ degree heat. Hot, humid, Texas-in-August heat. I thought I was going to pass out at one point. I think it was right around the time that the balloons flew away from me and I chased after them with a 5 pound camera around my neck, nearly falling in the lake. lol. Did I mention that I’m 21 weeks pregnant? I must have looked ridiculous… and sweaty. Gross. I’m so sorry for anyone that had to see me that day!! 😀

Anyway, here are a few of my faves from the first day:

This photo of little Elliette was taken before we even started the official session. This spot of mulch had nice soft lighting, even though it was still pretty early in the day (the nicest light is closer to sunset). Isn’t her face angelic?

This is beautiful Addison. (I have a soft spot in my heart for girls named Addie <3) You can’t tell by this picture, but she is super fast and didn’t like my camera! Or maybe she didn’t like me 😛
I had to kinda jump in front of her and hope for a good shot. Point and pray is what that “style” of photography is called, lol. She reminds me of my own little Addie, full of energy and personality. I was definitely sweating after this session! 🙂
This gorgeous little girl is Riley (sorry Michelle, I might have butchered the spelling!). Riley was a bit shy at first, which I was SO grateful for. A calm, quiet, well-mannered 2 year old… I didn’t even know they existed!
Her shyness allowed me a few minutes to catch my breath and wipe the sweat off my brow.
Her parents told me that she wasn’t a big smiler, but as soon as I started making a fool out of myself (putting stuffed animals on my head, barking like a dog, blowing bubbles, stepping in ants, etc.) she gave me tons of smiles!

This last one was not taken during a mini-session. It was just a quick snapshot I took of my friend and her daughter (I also photographed them here) using her camera. But, I thought it was too sweet not to share, because I have truly never seen a smilier (smiley-er? sp?) baby. She does not stop smiling. Her mom, who is also my good friend, happens to be ridiculously positive and happy, so maybe that rubbed off on baby Jolie? Whatever happened, it’s cute. Too cute not to share 🙂
