Hi there, I’m Carolyn! I’m a recent transplant to San Clemente, CA (via Houston, TX and before that Tacoma, WA).
I’ve got 4 kids between the ages of 11 months and nearly 16. I believe there is no such thing as too many flowers or too much color. I’m a bit of an old house addict. I’ve lived in 5 states and 5 countries, but I can’t speak any other languages (one of my biggest regrets!). I almost always make friends with the stranger sitting next to me on a plane. One time I took the wrong train on a solo trip to Florence and then my phone died, and it was pouring rain, and people thought I was trying to steal their phone when I asked to borrow theirs to look up directions. I live for days like that where everything goes wrong, but it ends up being so memorable you just have to laugh! I rarely order the same thing twice, but then I am more frequently disappointed by a meal, while my husband always sticks with what he likes and is never disappointed (I feel like that sentence sums up our entire relationship). My husband and I got married at a little old English pub in San Francisco (The Pelican Inn). It was a cold and sunny April day. I loved every second of it!
I got my start in photography many years ago as one of the photographers for the high school newspaper. I can’t really say that’s when it all began though, because there was a 5 year gap where I went to college, became a mom, got a bachelors degree, worked as an insurance agent, met the man of my dreams, worked as a marketing manager, moved around a bunch and got married. Phew that’s a lot! I started portfolio building in 2009, photographing anyone that would let me hone my skills (ask me about the time I photographed a bunch of cats lol), then officially started my business in 2010. I am so grateful for the ability to do something I love and for my friends and family that have supported me along the way.
